The problem is that we live in an incredibly demanding individual world. Single parents are hanging on by a thread. Pressure from friends to do the unthinkable is never ending. Mortgages, gas prices and the every day cost of life create ongoing anxiety. Relationships are formed and broken in ten words or less. Our personal performance is measured against a computer rendered body. Minimum wage jobs require a master’s degree. Long-standing tools of transformation like quiet time; traditional Bible-studies, Church, family time and small groups are less affordable each day as our availability for these change-agents are absorbed by our need to survive.
Under these demands, we find ourselves surrounded by people and conversations, but oddly all alone. We run out of ideas. The advice of friends becomes problematic. Books don’t seem to work. Reality television and great videos provide a smokescreen over our problems, but they don’t put out the fire.
The solution is simple. When you know God and who you are in Christ, you will know without doubt how to live your life with joy, peace, patience, and kindness and with unimaginable hope, expectation and accomplishment.
