"'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.'"Matthew 22:37-39

Core Values

Identity At iKan Ministries we believe that everyone needs to know their true identity. We believe that knowing whose you are, who you are and what you have will direct what you do. We believe that everyone’s true identity comes from Jesus. What He says about us is all that matters. We encourage you to dig deep and discover who you really are.

Love We value love. We strive to love God, love ourselves and love others. We want to be an encouragement to everyone we meet. (1 Thessalonians 5:11) We want to be transparent and really share the love of God and what He has done in each of our lives. At iKan Ministries we view everyone as one of God’s Children. We don’t care if you are a drug addict, in prison, stuck in sin, delivered from sin or you are on fire for Jesus, either way we would love to meet each one of you and share with you the love of Jesus Christ, who forgives all and loves all. (Matthew 22:37-39)

Truth We rely on God’s Word to be our Truth. (Romans 3:4 and Isaiah 54:17)

Praise Power We believe that many of our needs have already been made available through the blood of Jesus, once we understand all that He has provided for us. We don't believe God is a genie, but we do believe He has provided wisdom and character, etc. that when used properly result in God's glory and fruit in our lives. Thus, we strive to recognize what we are thankful for and understand what we have. This inevitably leads to praise and glory to God. Also, we believe that 75% of our efforts should be focused on the defeat of our spiritual enemy through praise (3 out of 4 hands in Nehemiah were with a sword, while the fourth hand worked to lay rocks and rebuild the wall). Therefore, we prioritize prayer where we simply use God's word to agree with what He has said and proclaimed.

Feedership We value the fact that Jesus called us to "feed" our sheep, not lead our sheep. We believe that natural leaders are born when they are taught how to adequately "feed" those sheep with which they have been entrusted. (John 21:17)

Zero Tolerance We have zero tolerance for sickness, poverty or anything else our spiritual enemy tries to throw at us. (Isaiah 54:17)

First Responders We firmly believe that Jesus’ name is above every name. (Philippians 2:9) Therefore, we strive to be bold first responders. This means we do our best to meet a problem head on the minute it comes up. At the first sign of a battle we begin to war!

Little Ones We believe in the power of the "little ones". We interpret this to mean both young people and people that are spiritually not yet mature. We will not look down on you because you are young. We want to encourage you, help you grow and also let you speak into our lives and the lives of the people we serve. (1 Timothy 4:12)

Forgiveness We want to be known as forgivers. Jesus calls us to forgive just like He forgave us. (Matthew 6:14-15) We also want to be known as forgetters. Just as Jesus forgives us and forgets our sins we want to do the same with our brothers and sisters in Christ. (Hebrews 8:12)

Givers We desire to be fruitful givers. (Luke 6:38) We desire to be servant leaders, using and connecting the gifts God has given us to accomplish our Vision.

Honesty We strive to make our "yes" mean "yes" and our "no" mean "no". We want people to know that our word means something. We desire to encourage others by being transparent in how God has and is transforming our lives. (Matthew 5:37)
